Today is Thursday 19th August 2021
Can you say that out loud to someone in your house?
Could you write it out?
Today's lesson
Fitness today
My boys really enjoyed doing this fitness activity. I even did it and it was really fun. See if you can get your mum, dad, brothers and sisters doing it :)
Its only 5 minutes and is a good way to wake up your brain ready for some learning.
Maths
Let's start off with counting to 100.
Room 4 you are all amazing at counting forwards BUT can you count backwards?
Today let's work on counting backwards from 20.
Here is a song to help practise counting backwards from 20
Can you complete the missing numbers on the following table?
Extra challenge is;
*Count backwards from 20 with your eyes closed
*Count backwards from 20 while standing on 1 foot
*Find someone in your house and count backwards from 20
Writing
Today for writing we are going to write about what we have been doing in our bubbles.
Here are some ideas you could write about;
- what have you been doing in your bubble
- what activities have you done with your family
- how you have helped your family
- any new games you have learnt
Remember to use;
a capital letter
full stop
finger spaces
listen to our sounds
My example;
In our bubble we have been doing lots of baking. The boys have made some yummy cupcakes.
Reading
Remember to read every night or have someone read to you. You could even read your favourite story to your brother or sister.
Here are our sight words. Try and practise them everyday. Your goal is to say it before the lady does. Good luck!!!
Extra challenge
Can you write down as many words that start with the letters 'sh'
-shop
-shell
Paper Plane
Let's end the day with a paper plane competition. You could get your family to make one too.
Here is a video to help you, all you need is some paper.
Once it is made you can go and fly it and see which plane flies further.
Great job today Room 4. Remember you can send me in any photos of your work.
Good afternoon from Mrs Romaniuk
Hi R 4, I would love to see some of the planes that you make, remember to carefully make the folds.....I wonder how far your planes will fly?
