We finished the term with some amazing published writing about silvereye birds, decorated our window with our wonderful painted whales and had fun cutting and folding to make an easter basket.

Little nest
Ruby brought a little bird's nest to school to share with us. Thanks Ruby!
It was very small and Ruby told us it belonged to a bird called a Silver-eye.
We looked at some photos of a Silver-eye bird and noticed it is a very small bird and has a silvery white colouring around it's eyes.
We looked at the nest closely and wondered what the bird had used to make the nest.
Here are some of our ideas:
twigs
leaves
sticks
grass
Room 4 tamariki LOVE reading!
We LOVE reading in Room 4 and today was another great reading session as we all rotated through our reading learning activities.
In the photos below you will see us working on our phonics letter 'b' activity, reading in the library corner with a buddy, using the phonics apps on the ipads, reading our new reading books at the teacher table and doing the alphabet puzzles on the mat. We all rotate and have time at each activity during our reading session.
We were all focussed learners and you can see we demonstrate great manawanuitanga and a love of learning!

Here is a snapshot of what learning looked like in Room 4 this week.
Fitness
We have been working on throwing and catching the bean bags.
We enjoyed throwing our bean bag to our buddy.
We were playing a fun game where we had to hide a number and our buddy had to figure out what number was missing.
Finding numbers
We have been learning about tens frames. Here we are putting stones on them to represent a number.
Counting to 20 forwards and backwards
