Cook Island Language Week

 Kia Orana!

Room 4 have been learning about the Cook Islands this week.

Today we worked together to make a tivaevae with paper (a special quilt).  It was a team effort and everyone contributed a pattern piece.

We think our tivaevae looks awesome!

We learned a tivaevae is….
  • a special quilt from the Cook Islands
  • is made by a group of people
  • is stitched by hand and with love
  • is very colourful
  • has different patterns
  • has lots of shapes
  • Is very special and passed on to other people
