Room 4 have been learning about the Cook Islands this week.
Today we worked together to make a tivaevae with paper (a special quilt). It was a team effort and everyone contributed a pattern piece.
We think our tivaevae looks awesome!
We learned a tivaevae is….
- a special quilt from the Cook Islands
- is made by a group of people
- is stitched by hand and with love
- is very colourful
- has different patterns
- has lots of shapes
- Is very special and passed on to other people
