Week 6

Even though this week was a short week we had a lot to get through.

We have be working hard on our 'Honey' production as well as keep up with our reading, writing, maths and other curricular activities.

Here is a snap shot of what we have been up to in Week 6.

We started our day on Tuesday with this beautiful rainbow right outside our window.
It was so amazing that we had to stop our learning to take a look at it.

Last week was Samoan language week. This week Lusia brought in a fabulous book about how to count, say animals, words, greetings etc in Samoan. She read it to the class with such confidence. Well Done Lusia

Tobin worked hard on his writing today. He was able to use all his letter sounds to sound out the words 'dragon and king'- Good work Tobin

Malachi took Polkadots home last week. Here he is reading his adventures to the class. Polkadots told me he loved going home with you Malachi.

Maddy took Stripes to her house. Stripes loved going to Maddy's swimming lessons but wasn't too keen to get in the water. Thanks for looking after Stripes Maddy and for reading your adventures to the class.

Here we are doing our daily phonics. I am saying a word and the children have to write down either the beginning or end letter sound. EG 'Dog' would be beginning sound 'd' or end sound 'g'.

We love news time. Here we are in our news groups sharing our news. Really good listening to each others news Room 14

We are making some cute bees for our Honey production. Here we are painting toilet rolls yellow, this will form the body of the bee.

Then we made the head for the bee.

This week we look at an awesome video about how the bees 'make' honey. We learnt some amazing information which we have written down and have displayed on the window. Come in and check it out, you may learn something!!!

On Friday we did some buddy reading with our buddies.

Then we worked with our buddy to complete our weekly poem.

What a busy week we have had! Keep up the great work Room 14
