Thursday lesson

Today is Thursday 20th August 2020

Can you say what yesterday was?

And what will tomorrow be?

 Fitness

Here is the one we did the other day in class. The boys and I did it yesterday while it was raining.

Maths

Today for maths you need to work out the new number.

Here we are learning to count on.

You can use your fingers or counters to help you.

Writing

Today for writing I want you to start with your picture first.

Now your picture can be anything but you can only use shapes.

Here are some shapes we have been learning this term and some extra ones if you want to use them in your picture as well.

Once you have drawn your picture you have to write what shapes you used for your picture.

My example;

In my picture I used a square for the house and a triangle for the roof. For the trees I used a rectangle an oval and a triangle. To make the car I used a rectangle, circles and squares.

To help with the spelling of the shapes use the picture with all the shapes on it above.

Phonics

Your job is to sound these words out and figure out what the missing letter/sound is;

Hint: They are colours

Reading

Don't forget to read today or have someone read to you.

Our story today is one of my favourites 'Elmer and Wilbur'

Listen to the story and see if you can answer the questions below.

Questions;

1. Who were the elephants looking for at the beginning of the story?

2. What did the elephants keep hearing while they were searching?

3. Where did Wilbur say he was stuck?

4. How did they get Wilbur out of the tree?

5. How do YOU think Wilbur got up in the tree?

Extra

Can you draw Elmer?

Here is a video to help

Remember to email me through any work, I love seeing it :)

Keep up the great work Room 4.
